📂 Manage Mid Categories
This admin panel page allows administrators to create, view, edit, and delete mid-level (secondary) categories. Mid-level categories are subcategories nested under top-level categories (e.g., Electronics → Computers, Clothing → Men's Wear). They provide a second tier of product organization for more granular categorization.
🔍 How It Works
- Parent Top Category Selection: When adding a new mid category, administrators must first select a parent top-level category from the dropdown menu.
- Mid Category Naming: Enter the name for the mid-level category (e.g., Computers, Men's Wear, Living Room).
- View All Mid Categories: Displays a complete table showing all existing mid categories with their parent top category, associated end categories, and action buttons.
- Hierarchical Structure: Each mid category displays the number of child end categories it contains.
- Edit & Delete: Quick-access action buttons for managing individual categories.
🏗️ Category Hierarchy
The three-tier structure works as: Top Category → Mid Category → End Category. Mid categories bridge the gap between broad top-level categories and specific end categories, allowing customers to navigate products more intuitively on the front end.
📊 Current Data
The page displays 5 existing mid categories: Digital Goods (Testing), Development (Website), Analytics (Visitor Trackers), Applications (Software), and Web Development (E-commerce). Each has 1-2 associated end categories.
